PUTNAM COUNTY APPROVED FOR INDIVIDUAL AND PUBLIC ASSISTANCE

NASHVILLE – Governor Bredesen announced the federal government has authorized a major disaster declaration for Putnam Countas a result of extreme weather and flooding that struck the state April 30-May 2.Putnam County residents can apply for assistance by registering online at www.fema.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).

Mission Statement:
 
The Cookeville - Putnam County  Emergency Management Agency's mission is to mitigate the potential effects of the various hazards that might impact the county, to prepare for the implementation of measures which will preserve life and minimize damage, to respond effectively to the needs of the citizens and local jurisdictions during emergencies, and to provide a recovery system to return the county and its communities to a normal status as soon as possible after such emergencies.
